With 5400 square meters of bricks and wood, the Franco Parenti Theatre will be the headquarter of all the event network. Located in Porta Romana and easily reachable from the city centre, it wil host exibhitions, live music and interactive design performances, workshop ad happenings conceived to involve the people all the day long.

Matteo Donini aka The Don opened the gallery in march 2008, after being a passionate collector for more than 10 years. His friendship with Bo130 and Microbo started in 1996 and drove him into the ‘Street’ world and its caracters. After being travelling around Europe and USA, The Don decided to make Italy understand the real value of the art coming from the Streets and learn the real history of Graffiti.

As announced during the first big collective show,WAKE UP!, The Don Gallery’s been arranging art exibitions in order to explore and deepen the new artistic movements derived from the ’subculture’ of the young communities in the last thirty years.

From ‘Writing’ to ‘Street Art’, from ‘ Lowbrow to ‘ Pop Surrealism’, the Gallery intends introducing the public to the most important and prolific international artists, the true protagonists of this phenomenon which has been so-far too often misunderstood and axploited. The Don Gallery will present ’site specific’ shows including outdoor wallpainting sessions around the city.

La sua amicizia con Bo130 e Microbo nacque nel 1996 e lo ha portato nel mondo ‘Street’ e dei suoi personaggi. Dopo aver viaggiato per l’Europa e gli USA, Don ha deciso di far capire all’Italia il reale valore dell’arte di strada ed imparare la vera storia dei Graffiti.Come annunciato in occasione della prima grande mostra collettiva, WAKE UP!, la Don Gallery organizza mostre d’arte al fine di esplorare e approfondire le nuove tendenze artistiche derivate dalle ‘subculture’ delle giovani comunità negli ultimi trent’anni.Dal ‘Writing’ alla Street Art’, dal ‘Lowbrow’ al ‘Pop Surrealism’, la Galleria intende presentare al pubblico i maggiori importanti e prolifici artisti internazionali, i veri protagonisti di quel movimento troppo spesso è stato frainteso.
